Core-Fix HR Helical Horizontal Joint Reinforcement and Crack Repair is used in existing masonry facades to form “beams” within the masonry for lintel reinforcement, the stabilization of cracking in masonry walls caused by ground movement, and to reconnect wythes of structures built using different construction materials.

Sizes
Core-Fix HR Helical Horizontal Joint Reinforcement is manufactured from ASTM 304 or 316 austenitic stainless steel and is available in 6.0mm and 8.0mm diameters, and in lengths up to 10 meters. Standard cut lengths are 1,000mm (39.4 inches).
Installation Procedure
1. Rake or out grind slots in the horizontal mortar joints to the specified depth at each location and at the required vertical spacing. Unless otherwise specified, the slot depth should be approx. 35mm (1.3/8 inches), and the vertical spacing is typically three to four brick courses
2. Blow out slots and thoroughly flush with water
3. Using a grout gun, insert a bead of cementitious grout into the back of the slot
4. Press the Core-Fix HR reinforcement into the wet grout to obtain good coverage, a minimum of 15mm (5/8 inches)
5. Cover any exposed Core-Fix HR with cementitious grout and tool over using a finger trowel
6. When cured, re-point or fill the joint with mortar
