Core-Fix shear Anchors

Additional Information

Core-Fix Shear Anchors are used to take the applied lateral loads and self-weight shear loads acting on existing masonry façades to maintain the integrity of the wall.

Special Features

• Maintains structural stability

• Resists both lateral and shear applied loads

• Minimal disturbance to building occupants

• Minimal disfiguration of the building façade

Materials

Core-Fix Shear Anchor components are manufactured from AISI Type 303 Stainless Steel with an ultimate tensile yield strength of 100,000 psi and AISI CDA360 Brass with an ultimate tensile yield strength of 68,200 psi.

Sizes

Core-Fix Shear Anchors are available in diameters from ½” to 1½”, and in various lengths according to the project requirements.

Performance

Core-Fix Shear Anchors typically generate axial pull-out load capacities in excess of 3,000 lbf

Installation Procedure

  • Drill the correct size diameter pilot hole through the veneer stone and into the substructure to the specified depth at each location
  • Remove the cone and expansion sleeve from one end of the anchor and mount it on the installation tool.
  • Install the anchor into the pilot hole and position it to the specified depth behind the face of the veneer panel.
  • Tighten the anchor using a socket wrench to the recommended torque, and remove the installation tool.
  • Re-assemble the expansion sleeve and cone on the anchor shaft
  • Use the veneer-side installation tool to tighten the slotted threaded cone also to the recommended torque, and remove the installation tool.
  • Patch to complete.
